Graphic Work
Marlene develops graphics ranging from logos for a business
card (The Home Store, Leister's
Music, Buildmore, Offerings) to the more complex layered poetic graphic which dances a
poetic message on the computer screen (such as the Literary Rose award-winning submission
to Nebula, The Spirit of
Miles; and others in Alberta - the Write Landscape).
PI has satisfied the complexities of a visual artist who published her art and
poetry in her book, The Spirit Sings on a single poster (Regina Coupar) and the simple needs of a construction worker
to easily explain their work. The two main goals behind the graphic work is to
provide the work simply enough that the viewers' eyes are caught with a "that's
interesting" expression and complex enough that whenever they look again, they see
another message. A viewer will not be bored for a long time as the juxtaposition of
images has many messages to be heard and many thoughts should arise which will include
answers to questions that get presented.
Audio Work
In developing multimedia applications, Marlene networks with individuals who specialize
in the audio and visual fields, such as musicians, audio
engineers, videographers, graphic artists, visual artists, computer specialists. Like
Marlene, these individuals continually
investigate the development of new software as it applies to sound and look at inexpensive
creation of "one-off" CD's for marketing or on-stage accompaniment as well
as mass production through a developed network for self-publishers. Among the areas
of audio focus are:
